Christopher Bontrager Announced Birmingham Business Journal’s 2020 Veterans of Influence
Christopher Bontrager, portfolio director at Retail Strategies, was named one of Birmingham Business Journal’s 2020 Veterans of Influence. In the special Veterans of Influence section, the BBJ recognizes military veterans who served their country before going on to have successful careers in Birmingham’s business world.
“No one is more deserving of this award than Christopher Bontrager,” said Scott vonCannon chief operations officer of Retail Strategies.
“We are proud and thankful for his many years of service to our country. He is a valued member of our team and has been instrumental in furthering the progress at Retail Strategies.”
Bontrager served in US Army from 2007 until 2018, first as an enlisted soldier and later as a commissioned officer. His service time included a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has received multiple military decorations for his service.

At Retail Strategies, Bontrager is the Southwest territory portfolio director. He represents the company’s interests in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Nebraska. In this position, Bontrager oversees client management, real estate, and retail economic development advisement to community leaders in the Southwest.
