The City of Warrensburg has partnered with Retail Strategies for community development services.
Retail Strategies is a community development firm that seeks out retail businesses that may be a good fit for certain communities. The firm is going to perform a “boots on the ground” market visit in the next 30 to 60 days to scope out the area and decide how the community could improve.
“The City of Warrensburg has hired Retail Strategies to help create and execute a retail recruitment plan on behalf of the city,” said Courtney Hall, chief marketing officer for Retail Strategies. “So basically, we will come to the market and meet with property owners. We do what we call a BOG, which is a boots on the ground assessment of the market, and identify the properties and other real estate that are prime for new retail and restaurant businesses.”
Retail Strategies will essentially be attempting to update and improve the quality of life for those living in and around the Warrensburg area. This is done through analysis and marketing.
According to Retail Strategies’ press release, “The city will receive a tailored retail recruitment plan, an in-depth market analysis and a custom marketing guide. Additionally, the Retail Strategies team will represent the City of Warrensburg at retail real estate trade shows.”
Retail Strategies also believes that the Warrensburg area is a great location to expand upon. With the University of Central Missouri, as well as Whiteman Air Force Base, the community development firm believes the city could flourish under a proper retail recruitment strategy.
The press release states the five-year agreement between the City of Warrensburg and Retail Strategies could lead to growth in Warrensburg in the coming years.
Hall made sure to affirm that the city made the right choice with Retail Strategies.
“What we like to say is that retail recruitment is a marathon, not a sprint,” said Hall. “It’s really smart that the city invested in a long-term strategy.”
