In this session, we will cover the brands that have recently opened new locations in TN along with all the criteria necessary for expansion. Putting all the pieces of the puzzle together can be difficult, but it is possible. The franchise fees, real estate criteria and demographic requirements will be highlighted so community leaders can make connections on a local level to bring the puzzle pieces together.”
STI PopStats and Tetrad Conference
Topic: How Will Opportunity Zones Change CRE Investment?
Buried in the tax reform bill that was signed into law December 2017 is a new place-based economic development program that could eventually lead to billions in investment in certain designated communities. The program offers a series of tax incentives to investors who deploy capital gains into “Opportunity Zones” – certain historically low-income Census designated by governors that comprise about 10% of all U.S. Census tracts overall. This session will cover a high level overview of Opportunity Zones and some predictions on how this could impact retail real estate investment.

“Paducah Economic Development chooses speakers for its annual meeting with the intent of educating a large public/private audience. After Lacy’s presentation, our leadership once again was blown away. The initial perception that retail is only low paying jobs and ecommerce was going to eliminate traditional retail was quickly corrected during the presentation. It was exciting the opportunities Lacy’s presented for our community and the reaction by our attendees was another amazing annual meeting. Thanks Lacy and Retail Strategies!”
