BIRMINGHAM, AL (August 24, 2020) – The Warren County Downtown Economic Development Authority has selected Retail Strategies as its retail recruitment partner for Bowling Green and the surrounding areas. The growing population in Warren County has been a catalyst for expanding retail economic development efforts. The partnership includes a focus on downtown Bowling Green as well as a comprehensive retail development strategy for the greater community.
With the creation of the Bowling Green TIF district and significant capital improvements in the district, the next step is bringing new retail and restaurants to the district. The Retail Strategies team has performed an initial market assessment of downtown and the surrounding areas to identify opportunities for new development. For downtown specifically, a one-day Strategic Visioning Workshop was held that included city leaders and downtown stakeholders. The feedback the Retail Strategies team received during the workshop, plus the market assessment and independent discovery, will make up the strategic recommendations for the Downtown Strategic Vision. The plan will include a three-to-five year strategic plan with specific strategies focused on policy, design, tourism, and economic catalyst opportunities for the downtown area.

Downtown Bowling Green is beautiful and features unique areas such as the historic Fountain Square and the more contemporary Bowling Green Ballpark.
