Sales Tax for 100 Retailers and Restaurants

Sales Tax Report:

Top 100 Retailers & Restaurants

Combining top restaurant and retail companies, Retail Strategies looks at sales tax dollars.

For a year where the retail industry kept feeling the pains from the pandemic, store expansion and consumer sales started back up in 2021. Included in the PDF report are U.S. annual sales, average sales per unit, and an estimate of how many employees an average retail store or restaurant will staff. Naturally, we have included annual sales tax collection revenue for cities that collect 2% sales tax.

Why 100 companies?

These brands are growing or stable, which generates long-term returns for a community in sales tax, job creation, and property taxes. With these retailers as a base to bolster revenue collection, a city can fund local initiatives and put money toward the city budget.

If you are recruiting retail and are curious what an average Quick Service Restaurant or Retailer will bring to your community, this report proves that economic development is retail development. If you have questions, our team is available to point you in the direction of retail recruitment and retention resources.

My relationship with the Retail Strategies team has been extremely valuable over the last couple of years as I’ve searched for sites in the Southeast. They have been persistent and provided any information they could gather for available properties that fit my criteria. If they received news that a space was coming available they made sure to immediately give me a call and connect with the owners. I would recommend using this service to any of my colleagues looking in their client cities.
