As the national news stories are devoted to the comings and goings of the major department and apparel stores, the grocery sector is experiencing a burst of interest with hopes that grocers will be the one that can overcome online encroachment. This sector excites communities because grocery stores can drastically improve the quality of life for residents and attract other retailers.

Chris Miller, Assistant Real Estate Manager, started for Kroger in 2013 in Phoenix, and currently works with the Nashville division. Involved in the development of nearly 2 million sq/ft of retail over a ten years in retail real estate he is currently responsible for new store growth and portfolio management in Middle/East Tennessee, Northern Alabama, and Southern Kentucky. He previously worked for Autozone in new store acquisition and development for seven years, managing territories throughout the Southwest, Northeast, South Florida, and Mtn. West.
Chris is the Tennessee ICSC Retail Chair, living in Franklin, TN with his wife and three daughters. He has a BBA from the Univeristy of Memphis.
